CHEMICALS REQUIRED
  • Cleaning chemicals shall be fit for purpose, suitably labelled, secured in closed containers and used in accordance with manufacturers’ instructions.


  • Ensure dilution strengths (as per product label) and contact times (as per product label) are adhered to.


  • Always follow manufacturers guidance.


  • Ensure disinfectants used comply with BS EN 1276 or BS EN 13697 standards

CLEANING METHOD

Cleaning Method

  1. Clear the kitchenette worktop area and sink of any items.

  2. Apply cleaning solution to all external areas from the worktop top surface, all aspects of the sink including the taps, the kitchen cupboard external surfaces, handles, utensil grid (remove cutlery first), tiling to the wall behind the worktop

  3. Allow the correct contact time to elapse (=30 seconds)

  4. Wipe over all surfaces with disposable cloths. Begin at the left side of the worktop and complete the whole worktop working towards the right ; work into circular motions to allow complete penetration and removal of all dirt and debris. Skip the sink area and complete the worktop surface.

  5. Next complete the tiled surface behind the worktop and the utensil grid by using the same method taking care to wipe all edges.

  6. For the utensil grid work a new cloth in a tubular shape to ensure that all aspects of the tubular grid are cleaned including the posterior part of the vertical supports.

  7. Now clean the sink. Empty the sink and clear the surrounding area.

  8. Apply cleaning solution to all areas of the sink.

  9. Dampen or rinse a disposable cloth in the cleaning solution and wring so that it is quite dry.

  10. Clean the outer frame of the sink, pipe work, splash back and surrounds.

  11. Clean the taps, sink and drain.

  12.  Wipe over all surfaces of the sink including getting into the plug hole and all areas of the taps.

  13. Rinse cloth regularly and change the cleaning solution when it becomes soiled.

  14. Using the tap and a new cloth, rinse the cleaned area and thoroughly dry it, using a well wrung cloth or paper towels. Insufficient drying will give a dull and unpleasing appearance

  15. Kitchenette cupboards. Wipe over the external aspect of the kitchenette cupboards taking care to cover all sides of the handles

  16. Now clear the inside of the kitchenette cupboards and move all items to an appropriate place as directed by the supervisor

  17. Spray the solution inside to all surfaces. Allow 30 seconds contact time and wipe away. Take care to spread the cloth into all corners


 
CLEANING VALIDATION

Cleaning Validation & Inspection


Cleaned surface shall be visibly clear from all debris, soiling, food, residue and dirt.

Visual Inspection

Rapid Hygiene Swab Reports


Cleaning Analyses and Validation Reports including assessment for micobiology and allergens.


 
SIGN OFF PROCEDURE

Sign Off Procedure

Cleaning Record sheet to record cleaning work has been completed to the correct standard by a supervisor who is not the person carrying out the cleaning.
