1.9.1a PEST CONTROL MEASURES AND SITE DESIGN TO MITIGATE RISK OF PESTS

FERA contracts the services of a competent pest control organisation for the regular inspection and treatment of premises to deter and eradicate infestation.  Where the services of a pest control contractor are employed, the service contract shall be clearly defined and reflect the activities of the site. The site is designed in a way to minimise risk of pests.

1.9.1b PEST CONTROL TRAINING, SAFETY CULTURE AND DOCUMENTING PEST CONCERNS OR SIGHTINGS

We ensure staff members are trained in the importance of pest control to maintain the safety of the food chain. Staff records are kept in staff portfolios. We encourage staff to actively feedback on their own feedback relating to maximising pest control measures. We also have an accessible form for members to document any pest concerns or pest sightings which are acted upon by the Board in an expedited and timely manner.

The assessment for pest activity also forms part of the routine housekeeping opening checks.
